Much like the state of Missouri, Illinois unemployment is also at an all-time low. The state unemployment rate currently stands at 4.1%. The state has gained over 2,800 new employment opportunities. Both the educational and Healthcare fields saw the greatest increase. The job market in these two industries grew by 3,300 and 2,300 jobs respectively. The number of citizens in the state without a job also decreased by 0.7 %
