City employees in Scott City are accused of Credit Card Abuse. The credit card abuse violates the Open Records Law in Missouri. City officials are waiting for a decision by the Scott County Prosecutors office on whether charges will be filed or not. Officials will not make the finding against them because the case is still being investigated. The city possessed 14 credit cards with a spending limit of $ 50,000. Most, if not all, employees received access to them. It has yet to be determined whether these credit cards were being used to hurt the city. In response to the incident the city has implemented safe guards to prevent this from happening again.
