Red Cross Urging Citizens to Donate to Relief Effort

This past week Hurricane Florence hit the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. The storm has affected the Carolinas and Virginia. The Red Cross is stepping up to help those in need. They are also asking other citizens to join the recovery effort. The Red Cross is making an effort to provide food, shelter and comfort to those affected. There are three different ways other .U.S. Citizens can donate to the relief effort. People can give blood or donate platelets and donations of money are also being accepted. Those who wish to donate can do so by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Donations are also being accepted online at Citizens can also text the word Florence to 9099 to make a $10 donation. People will have the option to give blood if they choose to do so from September 20 through October 15.
