A western Kentucky High School was honored for its bravery during a school shooting. Students at Marshall County High school received the 911 Hero Award. The award is given to people who show bravery in an emergency. The students were honored for conducting interviews that assisted investigators in their search for the suspect. On January 23, 2018 a student opened fire, killing to classmates. More than a dozen others were hurt.
