Uninvited Guests Fire Shots at Family Gathering

This weekend some uninvited guests showed up at a family gathering on Labor Day in Cape Girardeau. Gun shots were fired after those guests arrived at South Park Avenue. The incident occurred early Monday afternoon. One man was sent to the hospital after he was shot in the upper torso. The three suspects were identified as Zieon K. Ayers, 17, of Perryville, Missouri and Kaleb D. Starnes, 21, of Cape Girardeau; they were arrested without any conflicts at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning.  The two men were charged with Count I: Assault-1st Degree by shooting Anthony D. Odoms, Count II: Armed Criminal Action relating to Count I, Count III: Assault-1st Degree by shooting at Mario Wilson, Count IV: Armed Criminal Action relating to Count III. A 16 year old juvenile woman was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. She was later taken to juvenile authorities.  Police suspect the shooting was not a random act. Police also say no law enforcement was involved in the shooting and the investigation is still ongoing
