Cape Girardeau’s National Public Radio Station KRCU is joining Southeast’s Student run newspaper, the Arrow. This is to give students, who are perusing a career in mass media different platforms to experience. Now students can have their stories in both publications and if it is of appeal to others they can record audio too. The idea to combine both forms of media is to broaden the array of news stories being covered. The aspect of having a radio station takes students off campus to report on bigger and more meaningful matters, such as city council meetings. KRCU’s frequency expands into southern St.Louis giving students a wider audience.
