Secretary of State wanting to fund technology for public libraries

Missouri Secretary of State is advocating for more technology access in public libraries. Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft is asking for $1.1 million more for the state’s Remote Electronic Access for Libraries Program. The program helps support the cost for internet access, tech support and network security for public libraries in rural areas. Governor Eric Greitens recommended $2 million for the Fiscal Year 2018 budget. Ashcroft says the additional funding he is requesting will put the program on level with 2015 funding.
