IL bill may limit terms of some legislatures

A bill proposed in the Illinois General Assembly would limit the terms of some state legislatures. The bill was proposed by Republican representative Thomas Bennett of Gibson City and would limit the terms of House Speaker, Senate President and the minority leader in each chamber to terms of 10 consecutive years. A similar bill proposed last year was not passed but the chamber did approve legislation that limited the term of senate president and minority leader to 10 years.
