IL Supreme Court rules law banning guns near parks unconstitutional

Illinois Supreme Court has ruled that a state law banning guns near parks is unconstitutional. The law bans guns within 1,000 feet of public parks. The court ruled 7-0 the 2013 conviction of Julio Chairez for carrying a gun near a park in Aurora was a violation of the second amendment. The court said the law also created an unnecessary burden to legal gun owners who may live or work near parks.
