Missouri’s governor is proposing a cut to the state’s top individual income tax rates and corporate taxes. Governor Eric Greitens traveled the state Monday promoting the plan to decrease the income tax rate by 10 percent bringing it from 5.9 percent to 5.3 percent. He is also proposing a reduction in corporate income taxes by approximately one-third bringing that rate from 6.25 percent to 4.25 percent. The tax rates would remain revenue neutral by eliminating incentives for businesses to pay sales taxes quickly.
