Proposed amendments in KY moving forward in House

Two proposed amendments to the Kentucky constitution were advanced by the House. One proposed amendment would move elections for governor and other statewide officers to even-numbered years. The new election years would start in 2024 and would reportedly save the state millions of dollars. The other amendment would allow the legislature to approve or disapprove any state regulation during breaks in legislative sessions or between sessions. Disapproval of regulations would make them unenforceable. If the amendments are passed by the entire legislature, they will be on a ballot to be approved by voters.
