Due to high winds and dry conditions, a burn ban has been instated in Cape Girardeau effective December 4. Monday, fire crews in Cape Girardeau and the surrounding area responded to fires on Interstate 55 and near Lake Girardeau. Fire officials are asking Cape Girardeau County citizens to postpone outdoor burns.
