Plaque for Jefferson Davis will remain in KY capitol

A plaque in Kentucky commemorating Jefferson Davis will remain in the capitol despite a vote to remove it. The plaque is bolted to a 15-foot marble statue of the president of the Confederate States and was voted to be removed by the Historic Properties Advisory Commission who governs the statue. However, the plaque will not be removed until a lawyer from Governor Matt Bevin’s office says the commission has the authority to remove it.
