University of Missouri says it will continue using live pigs to train emergency room medical residents. Despite protests, the university’s Animal Care and Use Committee approved the use of pigs until 2020. The university is one of five in the state of Missouri to use pigs for training. Only 16 of 211 emergency residency programs in the United States and Canada still use pigs for training purposes.
