IL employment drops slightly in October

Illinois’ unemployment dropped just slightly in October. The unemployment in the state dropped from 5 percent to 4.9 percent. Payroll increased by 3400 jobs according to the US Department of Labor Statistics and IDES. The gain does not balance the state to the national average however. The state’s unemployment rate stayed at 5 percent for approximately eight months meaning the state hasn’t had this little job growth since 2007.
