STL federal judge says police can’t use chemicals on protestors

A federal judge in St. Louis has ruled police officers are not allowed to shut-down non-violent protests or use chemical agents to punish demonstrators. Those chemical agents include mace. The order is in response to an American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri lawsuit over police tactics during protests over the acquittal of a police officer who shot and killed a black man in 2011. The order applies while the lawsuit moves through the court system.
