A Cape Girardeau neurosurgeon and his fiancée have been found in violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act.

Dr. Sonjay Fonn and Deborah Seeger were found in violation after submitting more than 200 false claims to Medicare and Medicaid. Local medical offices filed a civil suit against them. It was also found that Fonn used expensive or multiple implants during surgeries resulting in an increase in Seeger’s commission income. The investigation was completed by a number of state and federal services.
