October 2017 10th wettest in IL history

Illinois experienced its tenth wettest October since 1895 this year. The month’s average statewide precipitation was five inches which is 1.7 inches above normal. The Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn received the most rainfall in the state with 12 inches. The state’s monthly average temperature was also above normal by 3.3 degrees. The state’s average high for October was 57.7 degrees.
