Greitens proposes plans to shrink government

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens announced plans to shrink the state’s government. On Wednesday, Greitens announced the results of a task force evaluating the state’s boards and commissions. The task force recommended eliminating 400 bureaucratic appointments, consolidating board and commissions that do duplicative work, and the creation of an overarching board that would oversee a number of the issues the state faces. Greitens says he believes the consolidation of government will better the state’s budget and make it easier for business to operate in the state.
