Planned Parenthood is suing Missouri for a second time. The organization filed a lawsuit in Kansas City concerning the state’s requirements for medication abortions. The law requires clinics that provide medication abortions to contract an OBGYN with admitting privileges at a hospital. The OBGYN must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Planned Parenthood is fighting the law because they say it is medically unnecessary and is preventing their clinic in Columbia for providing that procedure.
