The state of Kentucky is taking applications for people wanting to participate in the state’s hemp research program next year. The program began in 2014 with the intention of putting help on a path towards commercialization. This year, 194 farmers planted over 3,200 acres of hemp. 48 processors handled the product. Applications for growers can be found online and must be received or postmarked by November 15. Applications for processors and handlers will be due by June 1.
