Rauner disagrees with NFL protests

Illinois governor Bruce Rauner says he disagrees with National Football League players kneading during the national anthem. Rauner owns stake in the Pittsburg Steelers and responded to the protests after all but one player chose to stay in the locker room during the anthem on Sunday to protest President Donald Trump’s criticisms to the protests. Rauner said he will not condone the actions of the protesting players, but they have freedom of expression and can, quote, “choose to be disrespectful.”

The protests started last year when Collin Kaepernick of the 49ers chose not to stand during the anthem.
