ACLU suing City of St. Louis

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the City of St. Louis following the acquittal of former officer Jason Stockley. Stockley was found not-guilty of the 2011 shooting of Anthony Smith. Protests have taken place around St. Louis since the verdict. The ACLU is suing the city for what they say were “unlawful and unconstitutional actions” against protesters. ACLU says police violated due process and held arrested protesters without cause and used chemical weapons against protesters.
