IL Dept. of Health confirms first West Nile death of 2017

Illinois Department of Health confirmed its first West Nile Virus related death of 2017. A resident of Kankakee County died from the disease earlier this month. West Nile Virus is a mosquito-spread illness with symptoms including fever, nausea, headache and muscle aches. Those with compromised immune systems are more likely to die from the disease than most people. The state has 37 cases of the illness currently.
