Lawsuit filed against Jackson County, MO, sheriff’s office

A lawsuit filed against Jackson County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Department says the office inaccurately enforces a law related to sex offenders loitering near charities. City Union Mission filed the lawsuit doesn’t adequately define the word loiter and says the Jackson County Sherriff’s Office says the law applies to the church’s shelters and kitchens. City Union Mission says this is a violation of the organization’s religious freedom. The department says they’re just following the law.
