Second man arrested in connection with Clinton, MO officer shooting

The second subject has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Clinton, Missouri, police officer.

William Noble was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with evidence tampering. Noble is accused of disposing of the rifle used to kill the officer in a creek outside of Clinton.

Ian McCarthy was arrested Tuesday for shooting Officer Gary Michael during a traffic stop. Michael pulled McCarthy over for suspected registration violation.

McCarthy was arrested after a two-day manhunt and treated for a gunshot wound in Kansas City. He is being charged with first degree murder and armed criminal intent.

Officer Michael leaves behind a wife and step children.
