A new Missouri law will require local governments to remain transparent with its citizens. The law will require local governments to disclose all required financial information to its citizens or pay a $500 fine for every day the information is late. The law takes place on August 25. Earlier this year, Missouri auditor Nicole Galloway said almost half of local governments did not fully disclose information about spending.
