IL continues to struggle through budget negotiations

Over the weekend, the Illinois House passed a 32 percent income tax increase to help the state recover from its ongoing budget impasse, but Governor Bruce Rauner says he will veto the increase.

Lawmakers will also be presenting what could be the state’s $36 billion spending plan, a plan democrats say spends $800 million less than a bill Rauner proposed last winter.

Rauner is likely to veto that bill as well.
