Illinois to ban performing elephants

An Illinois bill could ban the use of elephants in any circus performing in the state. The bill passed the House 55 to 0 and the Senate 91 to 14 and is now Governor Bruce Rauner’s desk. If passed, the use of elephants by any circus performing in the state of Illinois would be banned. The bill gained support from organizations like the Humane Society of the United States.
