East Cape Girardeau’s April election results have been thrown out. The Alexander County attorney says the villages of East Cape and McClure share the same voting district, regardless of where voters reside. Because of this and issues with registration coding, the circuit court ruled elections may have been preformed incorrectly. The Illinois State Board of Elections is working with the county clerk on what to do next.
