Missouri to recieve grants for railway safety

The state of Missouri is getting $30 million in Positive Train Control grants to improve rail safety and efficiency. Senator Roy Blunt secured the funding for PTC grants in the FY2017 omnibus appropriations bill signed earlier this month. Missouri’s grants will be divided between Kansas City and St. Louis. Missouri is home to more than 4,700 miles of railway. PTC grants cover railways that run passenger and some hazardous material trains.
