The special session called by Missouri Eric Greitens has resulted in the passing of the steel mill bill. The bill passed the House 120 votes to 17. The bill would allow steel works companies and aluminum smelters to negotiate for lower electric rates than currently allowed by law. Grietens has been advocating for the bill saying it will bring a steel mill to southeast Missouri adding hundreds of jobs to the area. The bill moves to the Senate this week. If changes are made, negotiations for the bill will continue after Memorial Day.
