City officials in Paducah were recently presented with a check worth $192,143.91to be put towards the City Hall Rehabilitation Project. The funds are Kentucky Historic Preservation Tax Credits. The city could apply for the tax credits after the city hall was named a Historic Place by the National Register in the summer of 2017. In order for the city, a governmental entity to be able to use the historic tax credits for the project a partner within the city was necessary to buy the credits at completion so, Paducah Bank stepped up to help out. The rehabilitation, which was finished during the last calendar year, included roofing, stabilization of the concrete canopy, façade improvements, among other upgrades.
