Missouri State Officials Begin Property Social Media Campaign

State officials are currently reminding Missouri citizens and those who lived in the state to look into the unclaimed property list. Officials say their office holds more than $1 billion in unclaimed property. Officials remind citizens that sharing this information on social media will help spread the word and help citizens locate their lost belongings, such as cash. Starting today, the Treasurer Office’s social media platforms will entice citizens to look into the Unclaimed Property list by pinpointing holiday-themed names and items in the database. Every post will include #12DaysofUCP and will be put on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It is state law that financial institutions, insurance companies, public agencies and other businesses turn over unclaimed assets to the Treasurer’s Office.
