Jackson Scholl District to Receive Partial Assistance with Projects through Grant

The Jackson R-2 School District will receive a $125,000 grant to assist in the completion of a new baseball field at Brookside Park along with a walking and recreation trail near Jackson Middle School. District officials say, the grant is part of a Land and Water Conservation Fund, of which Missouri received $3,168,557. Projects to be funded with assistance from the grant will include a new baseball field, dugouts, driveway, parking area accessible routes and fencing.  The total cost of the project will be$160,000. Grant funds will pay for only half the cost. Completion of a walking and recreation trail will also will receive some funding from the grant. The project includes the playground area of Jackson Middle School.  The total cost of this project will be $90,000. The grant will pay for half of this project as well.
