A man has been taken into police custody for assault and is facing charges. Police say, the incident happened at Trimble Street in Paducah. The man was identified as Jhah A. Rizen. Police say Rizen refused to let a woman leave the home after reportedly assaulting her, threatening to kill her, and holding a knife to her throat. He also hit the woman in the face with a hammer. The woman was able to escape in the early morning around 3.a.m. After searching the home, a hammer, a number of knives and a tooth were discovered. The suspect has been convicted previously of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, theft, burglary, and other charges. He was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
