The Missouri Department of Conservation has stocked area lakes with rainbow trout for the upcoming trout season. The department has put 70,000 fish in over 30 lakes around the state. Several lakes around the state allow fisherman to keep their fish, but some with make them release them until February. The winter fishing season is set to begin later this month. The limit as to the number of fish someone can catch varies on the location. All residents, who wish to fish in any of the lakes, must have a fishing permit. All fishermen must be at least 15 years of age. Those who want to keep their catch must possess a State Fishing Permit.
