Missouri electric crews are helping aid power to residents in the path of Hurricane Florence. Many electric crews from across the country are lending a helping hand to those in South Carolina, Virginia and North Carolina. SEMO Electric Company will be heading that way on Friday. Crews will leave from their offices in Sikeston around noon. The nation’s electric companies are coming together for relief at the request of Santee Electric Cooperative in Kingstree, South Carolina. There will be a total of 162 electric workers heading east from Missouri alone, to help provide power to residents. The State of Missouri will be sending both construction and service crews out east to help with cleanup in the aftermath of the storm. There are currently workers from 11 different states joining in the relief effort.
